After the first plumber we called cancelled the service call, we found Riser Plumbing w...  Show more We had a leaking main supply valve on Saturday afternoon and found ourselves without water. After the first plumber we called cancelled the service call, we found Riser Plumbing when we googled "Emergency Plumber" we found ourselves talking to "the guy" who asked us for a picture of the leaking valve, then gave us a ballpark estimate of the cost. We asked him to come and he arrived about an hour later. After opening up the wall he identified that the valve was a 1-1/4" bronze gate valve, which is no longer commonly used. He informed us that the replacement is only available from larger plumbing supply sources, and he could get one at 7 AM Monday. He was able to restore the service by fully opening the valve and tightening up the stem nuts. He returned Monday morning and very quickly replaced the valve, and brought with him a finished cover to conceal the new valve in the wall, as opposed to a huge valve sticking out of the wall, which is what we had before. He (Erik S.) was very professional, considerate of our newly installed floors and finished walls, and did a great job. Whether or not it is an emergency, I strongly recommend Riser Plumbing and Drain (Sumner, WA, near Bonney Lake).
